Yesterday started out pretty normal.Everything was packed up and ready to go for Michael and Alexia’s wedding, and I still had a few hours to kill before I was planning on leaving for the Colony Club at 3:00 for set-up.I got in my van to go pick up some lunch and my van wouldn’t start….uh oh…this would be my worst nightmare coming true.I tried a couple more times, and nope…engine not turning on.Me and my neighbor tried to jump-start it, thinking maybe the battery was dead but that didn’t work either. These are the times that I’m really thankful that I have a great group of guys that work with me.Evis was scheduled for Platinum Mix backup, so I called him and he came right over.We loaded all the equipment into his truck and headed downtown with plenty of time to get set-up by the 5:30 wedding ceremony start time.No problem at all.But what would I have done without Evis??That could really have been a huge problem.Moral of the story here is, whatever DJ you decide to go with for your wedding, make sure they have some sort of back-up system in place just in case your scheduled DJ gets sick, or has car trouble.
THANK YOU EVIS!!! YOU'RE THE BEST!!!!!
The wedding itself turned out beautiful.Michael gets the award for “coolest groom of all time” for the ties he picked out for himself and his groomsmen. They had an old school 808 drum machine on them!!!!!
AWESOME!!!!
I loved the songs they had picked out too. They requested some jams I haven’t heard in years like:India.Arie “Ready For Love” and Eric B & Rakim “Don’t Sweat the Technique”.Very nice.Other highlights of their playlist included:“Atomic Dog”, “Paper Planes”, Lots of Beastie Boys and “Nuthin’ But a G’ Thang”…..all would fall on my personal favorites list.I also got to mix in some Arabic music that their guests were requesting. The music was great, but even better they had Lebanese food for appetizers! Those meat pies were tasty, just like my grandma makes them.Great wedding!!!Congrats Alexia and Michael!!
